M.P. Text Book Corporation, established on August 7, 1968, is a registered society under the M.P. Societies Registration Act of 1959. It operates in accordance with the provisions outlined in the M.P. Text Book Corporation (TBC) Regulation of 1974.
 
The central agency responsible for overseeing the distribution of free textbooks to students enrolled in government schools affiliated with the Madhya Pradesh Board is the Madhya Pradesh Textbook Distribution Corporation (MPTBC). This annual operation involves the supply of roughly 40,000 tonnes of paper in the form of reels and sheets, which are stored in the central paper warehouse located in Bhopal. The central warehouse then allocates the paper to approximately 50 to 60 registered printers, following the tender rules and guidelines.
 
In the fiscal year 2023-24, the M.P. Text Book Corporation (TBC) successfully sold approximately 6 crore textbooks, with an overall value of Rs 500 Crores. Notably, the corporation's revenues are experiencing rapid growth.
